# AMBITIONS: Build Your Future: full reference > Make your AI your purpose coach. AMBITIONS: Build Your Future is a free connector for Claude (ChatGPT coming soon). It brings AMBITIONS, Dom Coryell's practice for focusing your energy: find your Chief Aim, notice what pulls you off track, practice feeling it as already true, and watch MOMENTUM build as you log what you do. It runs on your own AI subscription. Connect URL: https://mcp.buildambition.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, OAuth 2.1 sign-in). Every request needs the user's own sign-in. Generated from the server's registered tools and prompts (14 tools, 11 prompts). Short version: https://mcp.buildambition.com/llms.txt ## Tools ### add_ambition (Add an ambition) writes the user's record Save an ambition the user names, or record another mention of one that already exists (same title). Include the why and the obstacle when they come up in chat. For money or other numeric ambitions, set numeric_target and unit (e.g. 10000 and "$"); numeric ambitions are the easiest to track. All ambitions stay visible; one gets picked as today's driver with set_driver. Always fill topic with a broad, generic category for the ambition (e.g. 'start a business', 'write a book', 'podcasting', 'run a marathon'), never the user's own wording; the title stays private. Once a Chief Aim is set, every other active ambition is a side ambition (a place to park ideas; no daily tasks), with a soft cap of 3. Call only when the user names an ambition or agrees to save one. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "title": { "type": "string", "minLength": 2, "maxLength": 140, "description": "Short title in the user's words, e.g. 'Hit $10k/month from coaching'" }, "area": { "description": "Life area, e.g. money, health, work, relationships, creative", "type": "string", "maxLength": 40 }, "why": { "description": "Why it matters to them, in their words", "type": "string", "maxLength": 500 }, "obstacle": { "description": "What's in the way, in their words", "type": "string", "maxLength": 500 }, "soul_or_shadow": { "description": "Only if the user says which root drives it", "type": "string", "enum": [ "soul", "shadow", "both" ] }, "numeric_target": { "description": "Target number for numeric ambitions (money, reps, words...)", "type": "number", "exclusiveMinimum": 0 }, "unit": { "description": "Unit for the target, e.g. '$', 'lbs', 'words', 'clients'", "type": "string", "maxLength": 20 }, "current_value": { "description": "Where they are now toward the target", "type": "number" }, "note": { "description": "Context for this mention", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 }, "topic": { "description": "Broad category you infer, e.g. 'start a business', 'write a book', 'podcasting'. Generic, not the user's wording; used later for privacy-safe matching", "type": "string", "maxLength": 60 } }, "required": [ "title" ], "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### set_driver (Pick today's driver) writes the user's record Set which ambition drives today (one per day; calling again the same day replaces it). Counts as a driver check-in (+1 MOMENTUM for that ambition). Returns all ambitions with scores, and how often the driver has switched this week. Switching is allowed but visible: hopping keeps scores small, sticking compounds. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "ambition": { "type": "string", "description": "Ambition title (or id) to drive today" } }, "required": [ "ambition" ], "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### set_chief_aim (Suggest or confirm the Chief Aim) writes the user's record Chief Aim = the one direction for the user's energy (Napoleon Hill's Definite Chief Aim: what, by when, why, how). It emerges from the logs; there's no deadline. mode='suggest' checks whether a pattern is strong enough and returns a suggested wording (saves nothing). mode='confirm' saves the statement after the user keeps or rewrites the suggestion (or writes their own); a later confirm revises it and keeps dated history (the previous statement is marked superseded; past logs keep their ambition). Switching the Chief Aim to a different ambition turns the old one into a side ambition; nothing is deleted. 'ladder' lists the other ambitions that serve the Chief Aim (ask the user). Never pressure the user to set one. Write Chief Aim and identity statements in the first person, in the user's own voice ("I am...", "I will...", "I am building..."), never third person ("Dom is...", "They will...", "The user..."). Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "mode": { "type": "string", "enum": [ "suggest", "confirm" ], "description": "suggest = look for a pattern, save nothing; confirm = save the user's confirmed statement" }, "what": { "description": "confirm: what they want, in their final words, first person (e.g. 'I am building a $10k/month coaching practice'), never third person", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 }, "by_when": { "description": "confirm: optional date or timeframe; leave empty if they don't want one", "type": "string", "maxLength": 60 }, "why": { "description": "confirm: the soul reason", "type": "string", "maxLength": 500 }, "how": { "description": "confirm: first plan / how they intend to get it", "type": "string", "maxLength": 500 }, "ambition": { "description": "confirm: which existing ambition this is (title or id). If omitted, uses the suggested ambition or creates one from 'what'.", "type": "string" }, "ladder": { "description": "confirm: titles of other ambitions that ladder up to the Chief Aim", "type": "array", "items": { "type": "string" } }, "source": { "description": "confirm: did they keep the suggested wording, rewrite it, or bring their own", "type": "string", "enum": [ "kept_suggestion", "rewritten", "own" ] }, "topic": { "description": "confirm: broad category you infer (e.g. 'start a business'), used only if a new ambition gets created; generic, not the user's wording", "type": "string", "maxLength": 60 } }, "required": [ "mode" ], "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### morning_map (Morning Map) writes the user's record The guided Morning Map (about 10 minutes, first thing). Call with no answers to get the six prompts plus the user's Chief Aim, identity and recent context. Call again with their answers to save them: dream (even 'nothing'), the ambition alive right now, who they have to be, three body feeling words, DO THE THING (one action), one non-negotiable, and optionally today's driver (counts as the driver check-in). Identity lines are first person ('I am...'), never third person. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "dream": { "description": "Dream capture, or 'nothing remembered'", "type": "string", "maxLength": 1000 }, "ambition_now": { "description": "The ambition alive in their chest right now", "type": "string", "maxLength": 200 }, "identity": { "description": "Who they have to be to hold it (one sentence, present tense)", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 }, "feeling_words": { "description": "Three body words, e.g. ['steady','warm','loose']", "maxItems": 5, "type": "array", "items": { "type": "string", "maxLength": 30 } }, "one_action": { "description": "DO THE THING: the one action that person does today", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 }, "standard": { "description": "What they will not negotiate today", "type": "string", "maxLength": 200 }, "driver": { "description": "Ambition title to drive today", "type": "string" }, "handle": { "description": "Their identity handle, if they named or changed it", "type": "string", "maxLength": 40 }, "i_am": { "description": "Up to three first-person 'I am ...' lines to save as their identity; never third person", "maxItems": 3, "type": "array", "items": { "type": "string", "maxLength": 200 } } }, "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### evening_set (Evening Set) writes the user's record The Evening Set (about 3 minutes, last thing before sleep). Call with no answers to get the Refresh questions (with the user's Chief Aim, identity and feeling words filled in), the one-minute Replay and the closing Question. Call again with answers to save. If the day went badly, save it as one line in day_note, then turn back to the finished feeling. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "ambition_now": { "description": "Refresh 1: what is my current ambition?", "type": "string", "maxLength": 200 }, "who": { "description": "Refresh 2: who do I need to be? First person ('I am ...')", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 }, "how_it_feels": { "description": "Refresh 3: how does it feel (as if already true)?", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 }, "replay_done": { "description": "Did they do the one-minute Replay?", "type": "boolean" }, "day_note": { "description": "One line about the day, good or bad", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 } }, "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### log_evidence (Log evidence) writes the user's record The main daily tool. Log a short progress report: an action, a number (e.g. money in), a win, or a temporary defeat (with its lesson). Links to an ambition (by title; defaults to today's driver), awards MOMENTUM points (up to 5 per ambition per day) and returns the new score and change. Set ladders_up=false when the activity doesn't serve any of the user's ambitions (e.g. 'redesigned my logo again', 'scrolled competitors for an hour'); it's then logged as off-track with no points, and the result includes a one-question leak check (shadow or plain distraction) to ask the user. Use it whenever the user reports something they did. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "text": { "type": "string", "minLength": 1, "maxLength": 500, "description": "What they did, in their words (short)" }, "ambition": { "description": "Ambition title or id it serves. Omit to use today's driver.", "type": "string" }, "kind": { "description": "action (default), number (a measurable result), win (a real result they're proud of), defeat (setback; include lesson)", "type": "string", "enum": [ "action", "number", "win", "defeat" ] }, "value": { "description": "Number for numeric ambitions, e.g. 400 for $400 earned today", "type": "number" }, "value_mode": { "description": "add (default): value adds to progress; set: value is the new total", "type": "string", "enum": [ "add", "set" ] }, "lesson": { "description": "For a defeat: the one lesson in it", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 }, "ladders_up": { "description": "false if this doesn't serve any of their ambitions (off-track); omit or true otherwise", "type": "boolean" } }, "required": [ "text" ], "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### answer_leak_check (Answer the leak check) writes the user's record Save the user's answer to the one-question leak check after an off-track log: was it shadow-driven (proving, comparing, escaping) or plain distraction? Answers add up to the leak insight (what pulls them off track most), shown in get_my_map and weekly_review. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "evidence_id": { "type": "string", "description": "The evidenceId from log_evidence's leakCheck" }, "answer": { "type": "string", "enum": [ "shadow", "distraction" ], "description": "shadow or plain distraction" }, "shadow_type": { "description": "If shadow: which one", "type": "string", "enum": [ "proving", "comparing", "escaping" ] }, "note": { "description": "Optional context, e.g. 'after checking competitors'", "type": "string", "maxLength": 300 } }, "required": [ "evidence_id", "answer" ], "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### log_golden_thread (Log a Golden Thread) writes the user's record Save a Golden Thread: a dream, a synchronicity (a book, line, person or song that arrives on cue), or proof that the new identity is becoming real. Two columns: what I noticed, what it might mean. Linked to an ambition (defaults to today's driver) it earns +1 MOMENTUM. Collect, don't over-interpret. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "noticed": { "type": "string", "minLength": 1, "maxLength": 1000, "description": "What they noticed" }, "might_mean": { "description": "What it might mean (their words; optional)", "type": "string", "maxLength": 500 }, "kind": { "description": "Default synchronicity", "type": "string", "enum": [ "dream", "synchronicity", "proof" ] }, "ambition": { "description": "Ambition it relates to (defaults to today's driver)", "type": "string" } }, "required": [ "noticed" ], "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### log_limiting_belief (Log a limiting belief) writes the user's record The "I'm stuck" path. Limiting Beliefs Log, only for a real limiting belief about self or identity (e.g. 'I'm not a finisher', 'I'm not good with money', 'Who do you think you are'): the old story, then a truer line the user can believe right now (truth, not positivity). If they only have the story, save it and help them find the truer line, then call again with belief_id and truth. A reframed belief linked to an ambition (defaults to today's driver) earns +1 MOMENTUM, and only a reframed belief can be shared. A practical snag (e.g. 'lunch ate my time', 'no laptop today') is not a belief: pass kind='snag'. Nothing is saved and there is no reframe or share; the result says Make it smaller and asks for a 10-minute version of DO THE THING instead. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "kind": { "description": "belief (default): a story about who they are. snag: a practical obstacle today (time, tools, place); gets Make it smaller, never a reframe", "type": "string", "enum": [ "belief", "snag" ] }, "story": { "description": "The old story, e.g. 'Who do you think you are'. For a snag: what got in the way, in their words", "type": "string", "maxLength": 500 }, "truth": { "description": "The truer line, believable right now", "type": "string", "maxLength": 500 }, "belief_id": { "description": "To add the truth to a story saved earlier", "type": "string" }, "ambition": { "description": "Ambition it relates to (defaults to today's driver)", "type": "string" } }, "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### weekly_review (Weekly review) read-only Read-only weekly review for the last 7 days: MOMENTUM and change, alignment with the Chief Aim, wins and temporary defeats, the leak pattern, driver switching, Golden Threads, this week's theme (with its Napoleon Hill companion lesson), and the Chief Aim check (still true? or a suggestion if one is emerging). Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "include_long_term_trends": { "description": "Ask for long-term MOMENTUM trends beyond the last weeks (not available in this connector). Unrelated to chat history, which this connector never reads.", "type": "boolean" } }, "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### get_my_map (My Map) read-only Read-only dashboard: Chief Aim (or its status), overall MOMENTUM with 7-day change, state (active / cooling / at risk) and alignment, today's driver and how often it switched, the log streak and milestones, the top leak, identity, and every ambition with score, numeric progress and status. Use when the user asks how they're doing or wants their map. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "include_long_term_trends": { "description": "Ask for long-term MOMENTUM trends beyond the last weeks (not available in this connector). Unrelated to chat history, which this connector never reads.", "type": "boolean" } }, "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### create_visualization (Create a visualization) writes the user's record Returns a script brief built from the user's ambition, why, obstacle, identity and feeling words. YOU (the assistant) then write a personal visualization script from the brief (present tense, the feeling of it already being true, an 'I am' identity line, three body feeling words), and the user listens with read-aloud or voice mode while the inline player card plays a quiet 6 Hz theta background track. Bedtime version by default. voice='future_you' or 'dom' asks for produced voice tracks, which this connector doesn't provide (the result says so and still returns the free brief). Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "ambition": { "description": "Ambition to visualize (defaults to the Chief Aim, then today's driver)", "type": "string" }, "minutes": { "description": "Length in minutes (default 3)", "type": "integer", "minimum": 1, "maximum": 10 }, "bedtime": { "description": "Bedtime version (default true): ends drifting, no call to action", "type": "boolean" }, "voice": { "description": "assistant (default, free): your built-in voice reads it", "type": "string", "enum": [ "assistant", "future_you", "dom" ] } }, "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### delete_my_data (Delete all my data) writes the user's record Permanently delete everything this connector stores for the user: ambitions, logs, Chief Aim, leaks, Golden Threads, beliefs, rituals and MOMENTUM. Only call when the user explicitly asks to delete their data and has typed DELETE to confirm. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "confirm": { "type": "string", "const": "DELETE", "description": "Must be exactly DELETE, typed by the user" } }, "required": [ "confirm" ], "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ### import_map (Import my Ambition Map) writes the user's record Bring in the user's free Ambition Map from their AMBITIONS interview (only works when their sign-in email matches the email on the map) (their three answers, 'I am' line and belief reframe) so coaching starts from their own words. Use when they ask to import or connect their plan, paste their map link (a /plan/... link; /map/... links work too), or say they just did the interview. Without a code it retries the import from the connect button they used. Seeds their ambition and identity line; the Chief Aim and the belief stay drafts. Safe to repeat. Never earns MOMENTUM. Input schema: ```json { "type": "object", "properties": { "code": { "description": "The private map code, or the full map link they pasted (a /plan/ link; /map/ links work too). Omit to retry the pending import from their connect button.", "type": "string", "maxLength": 400 } }, "$schema": "http://json-schema.org/draft-07/schema#" } ``` ## Prompts ### start (Start the AMBITIONS practice) First session: name an ambition, get a free visualization, set up tomorrow. Prompt text: Let's start AMBITIONS. Ask me what ambition is alive in me right now, why it matters, and what's in the way. Save it, then offer me a short visualization for it. ### welcome (Bring in my Ambition Map) Pull in the plan from your AMBITIONS interview and start from your own answers. Prompt text: I just did the AMBITIONS interview. Bring in my Ambition Map and coach me from it. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. Call get_my_map. If it has no welcome block, call import_map (no code needed if I came from my map's connect button; otherwise ask me to paste my map link). 2. Greet me (by first name if you have it). Quote my answers back word for word, each after a colon (Your goal: "..."), exactly as I wrote them: same case, same wording. 3. Propose today's one aligned action: the smallest version of my ambition that still counts, 10 to 30 minutes, aimed straight at what's in the way. Ask: do it, or swap it? 4. If I agree, call set_driver for that ambition. Offer the Chief Aim draft once (keep or rewrite, set_chief_aim mode=confirm). If there's a belief reframe, offer to log it once. MOMENTUM starts at 0 and only moves when I log real things. Keep it short. ### chief_aim (Write my Definite Chief Aim) Turn your ambition into one clear, first-person statement you read twice a day. Prompt text: Help me write my Definite Chief Aim. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. Start from what's already here (get_my_map: Chief Aim draft, driver, the ambition that keeps coming back). Don't make me start over. 2. Ask, one at a time: What exactly? Why does it matter to me? What will I give in return (the effort, the value, the trade)? What's the first step of the plan? By when, only if I want a date. 3. Write it back in the first person, present or future tense, 2 to 4 sentences, in my words. Concrete beats grand. 4. Save it only when I say keep (set_chief_aim mode=confirm). 5. Tell me Hill's habit in one line: read it out loud morning and night until it's part of how I think. The Morning Map and Evening Set are where that happens. No deadline pressure. If it's not ready, leave it as a draft. ### morning (Morning Map) Ten minutes, first thing: dream, ambition, identity, feeling, one action, one standard. Prompt text: Run my Morning Map with me. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. One question at a time, short: dream (even 'nothing'); my ambition right now; who I have to be to hold it (one 'I am' line); what that person feels like (three body words); what that person would do today (one action, smallest version that counts: this is DO THE THING); one thing I won't negotiate today. 2. If I have a Chief Aim, have me read it once, out loud if I can. 3. Save it with morning_map. Pick or confirm today's driver. Two minutes of chat, not twenty. No pep talk. ### check_in (Drift check-in) Two minutes when the day has pulled you off course: notice it, name what pulled you, get back to DO THE THING. Prompt text: I've drifted today. Check in with me and get me back on track. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. Call get_my_map. Remind me in one line of DO THE THING for today (the driver and the Morning Map action) and my "I am" line, if I have them. 2. Ask one question: what pulled me off? Sort it without judgment: a practical snag (make the action smaller), an old story (offer the limiting_belief reframe, log_limiting_belief), or a shadow pull like scrolling or comparing (log it with log_evidence ladders_up=false and answer the leak check). 3. Shrink DO THE THING to something I can start in the next 10 minutes. Ask: do it now, or swap it? 4. If I do it, log it with log_evidence. If the day is gone, say so plainly and point me at tonight's Evening Set. No guilt, no streak talk. Drifting is normal; the check-in is the practice. ### evening (Evening Set) Three minutes before sleep: refresh, replay tomorrow as the person you're becoming, one question. Prompt text: Walk me through my Evening Set. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. Refresh: my ambition, who I need to be, how it feels. Thirty seconds. 2. If today had a rough moment, offer one optional revision: replay it in my head the way I wish it had gone, once, then let it go. One line for a bad day, no post-mortem. 3. Replay: eyes closed, one minute, living tomorrow as that person. The being, not the achievements. Three slow breaths in that feeling. 4. Question to sleep on, unanswered: what does the person I'm becoming want me to know? 5. Save it with evening_set (replay_done when I did it). Never send me to sleep discouraged. End on the finished feeling. ### golden_thread (Golden Thread Log) Log a dream, a coincidence or a proof point that the new identity is becoming real. Prompt text: I want to log a Golden Thread. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. Ask what I noticed (dream, coincidence, or proof I'm becoming who I said). 2. Ask what it might mean, one line, optional. Don't interpret it for me. 3. Save it with log_golden_thread and link it to the ambition it touches. Patterns show up when we look back, not tonight. ### limiting_belief (Limiting Beliefs Log) Catch an old story and write a truer line you can believe right now. Prompt text: An old story is showing up. Help me with it. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. First sort it: a story about who I am ('I always quit') or a practical snag ('no time today')? A snag gets Make it smaller, not a reframe. 2. For a real story: write it in my words, then help me find a truer line I can actually believe today. Not hype. 3. Save it with log_limiting_belief. Same story twice is fine. Write the truer line again. ### walk (The Walk (weekly)) One hour, alone, outside, no headphones. Let the real ambition talk. Prompt text: Help me plan this week's Walk, or debrief one I just took. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. Planning: pick a day and a time, one hour, alone, outside, no headphones, phone away. That's it. 2. Debrief: ask what came up. Sort each thing: a Golden Thread (log_golden_thread), an old story (log_limiting_belief), or a note for tomorrow's Morning Map. It's not exercise and it's not a podcast hour. ### solo_date (The Solo Date (weekly)) One to two hours, alone, doing something slightly ridiculous with full attention. Prompt text: Help me plan a Solo Date, or debrief one. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. Planning: suggest three options near me that are a little ridiculous and low-stakes (mini-golf alone, a pottery class I'll be bad at, a noon movie). I pick one and a time. 2. Rules in one line: solo, phone only for navigation, no goal, full attention. 3. Debrief: what feelings and limits showed up? Log threads or stories as they fit. Awkward is the point. ### review (Weekly review) MOMENTUM, wins, leaks, threads and beliefs from the week, and the plan for the next. Prompt text: Do my weekly review. Coach brief (follow it, don't read it out): 1. Call weekly_review. Lead with one honest line on MOMENTUM and alignment with the Chief Aim. 2. Name the week's best proof and the top leak. Count old stories caught: that number is data, not a verdict. 3. Ask if the Walk and Solo Date happened; if not, plan them for this week. Short card. One adjustment for next week, not five.
